Translate the 2d concept to 3d is always a challenge. Back in Design College I had a teacher who always said: “the paper can take everything”, and that is so true! Not everything that works in 2d will work in 3d. It’s our job, as 3d modelers to adapt and do our best to bring the 2d concept to a fully functional 3d character.
For the Construaqui, a new supplier of tools and construction material, mascot I received this concept design from client:
